OCIO is a system for monitoring the fluid level inside tanks. This fuel management system detects the static pressure generated by the fluid height by means of a tube inserted into the tank and displays the fluid level or volume.
The system consists of:
- A control unit for displaying the level and managing the system. The unit is equipped with an intuitive, complete software and permits the connection of two alarm or lock devices.
- A tube for detecting static pressure: The tube end is inserted from the top of the tank and lowered down into the liquid until it touches the bottom.

Irish regulations
Installation & requirements
OFTEC regulation
All domestic oil tank installations in Ireland must be carried out by an OFTEC-registered technician. The tank must conform to IS:293 and be sited in accordance with IS:820.
Site requirements
The tank must stand on a level, load-bearing concrete base minimum 100 mm thick, extending 300 mm beyond the tank footprint on all sides. Ground must be clear of vegetation.
Bunding requirements
Bunded tanks are required within 10 m of a watercourse or drain. Secondary containment must hold 110% of the inner tank capacity. Check local planning conditions before installation.
