TAMS 3 | Learn More About These Grants

Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3) provide grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their farms. To avail of this grant farmers must make a valid Basic Income Support for Sustainability Scheme (BISS) application in the year of application or the year preceding year. This must be made before applying for a TAMS 3 grant. The BISS scheme provides direct income support to Irish farmers to underpin their continued sustainability and viability. To make the TAMS 3 application, the applicant can work with an agricultural agent (a list of agents is available on the Teagasc website) or the applicant can apply on their own.

To qualify for the grant, applicants must:-

Be registered with DAFM (have an quine premise number)
Have a minimum of five eligible hectares of land, owned, leased or rented.
Have submitted a BISS application in the year or preceding year of the application. All investment locations must be digitised and present on the BISS application maps.
Have minimum three equines of any type submitted on Equine Census, where applying for equine infrastructure.
Have secured full and final planning permission / declaration of exemption from planning before applying for the TAMS 3 grant.

The grant must be approved before the materials are purchased or building commences. All works must be finished with receipts submitted and inspections completed for grant payments to be issued.
